Linux: Emergency close a hanging Window by Keyboard Shortcut on Gnome
Problem: If you surf on the internet sometimes the Browser stops working cause bad internet sites uses wrong flash and java code.
Solution: A little tool called “xkill” helps you to get back control on you desktop. The easiest way to use it for emergency is to start xkill by keyboard shourtcut.
Howto:
- Go to Gnome System -> Settings -> Keyboard Shortcuts
- Select new entry called xkill
- enter command xkill
- save
- select xkill again on shortcut list
- press wanted shortcuts, i use CTRL+ALT+X
